You will find your Answer settings on the right hand slider within your questionnaire builder. It will consist of some specific settings that are related to the answer option on your page. In this article we will explain the different options that you can encounter in your Answer settings:
Active (show to respondent)
Setting type: Switch
Default setting: On
Functionality: Turning this switch on shows the current answer to the respondent. Turning it off hides it from the respondent’s view.
Relevant for answer options: Single Question Page, Matrix Question Page, Form Page, Root Cause Page, Image Checklist Page, Conditions Checklist
Routing
Setting Type: Dropdown
Default Setting: Next Page
Functionality: This will decide the routing for the next page.
Relevant for pages: Single Response Single Question Page, Root Cause Page,
Note: In order of hierarchy: 1) Dynamic Rule Engine, 2) Routing Answer setting 3) Routing Page Setting. When adding a routing to a Root Cause Page and a Second Root Cause layer is being used, the routing can only be placed on the second root cause answer option.
Exclude from randomization
Setting Type: Switch
Default setting: Off
Functionality: This will ensure that this answer options is excluded from randomization.
Relevant for pages: Single Question Page, Matrix Question Page, Form Page, Root Cause Page
Create comment box
Setting Type: Switch
Default setting: Off
Functionality: By turning this switch on in an answer box, a comment box will appear when the respondent chooses this answer. This comment box gives the respondents the opportunity to write additional information about their choice, or give an alternative answer if the given answer choices are not applicable to them. An example in which this function is often used is in combination with the answer option Other.
