This article offers you a step by step description on how you perform a user import.

Creating a new user is an action that will soon become like a second nature to you. But what to do if you have to add an entire department? The task of adding all those new users becomes a piece of cake when you make use of the import function.

You can now add all your employees at once by importing an excel file. In the top right you'll find the import button.

Just make sure you have the necessary columns represented in the designated Excel file you're going to upload: User type, e-mail address, first name, last name and gender. If you would like an example as to how to set up this excel file, simply make an export file of the existing users and replace the current data with the new data.

When you have your datafile saved to your computer, click import and either drag the file to the designated area or click the bar and select the correct file to start the import.

After the import has completed you will be sent an import user summary Excel file with the results of your import. In this Excel file you will receive feedback on the success of the import per user or if there have been problems during the import and if so, what needs to be fixed in order to complete the import successfully.

  • Import string was not in a correct format

This means the rows with data haven’t been filled properly. It is likely that the mistake lies with the differentiation between Full User and App user. No text is allowed in this column. Please use 1 for Full user and 2 for App user.

  • I received an error during the import

Check the import user summary. This will clear up the confusion. If you have tried to add a new user with an existing e-mail address, or if the e-mail address doesn’t match the standard “description@domain.extension”, the new user will not be created. Please also make sure that the rows for user type, first name and e-mail address are always filled, since they are mandatory for creating a new user.
