You are able to add multiple languages to your questionnaire in order for the respondent to choose their preferred language. To make these languages available to your respondents, you need to add them to your Questionnaire Engine. This article will take you through the steps of creating the additional languages you desire.


Language tab
When you open the questionnaire, there are several tabs present at the top of your page, including the Language tab. Click to open this tab.



Set primary language
The first step is to select the primary language of your questionnaire. Use the dropdown list to select the correct language. This language will now be shown behind the dropdown list: Language selected. By default, the language setting of your portal will be applied.


Selecting additional languages
The second step is to select the different languages you want to apply to this questionnaire.


On the one hand, you are able to select them from a predefined list of languages. Click on the Select Languages option, which will produce a pop-up with the available languages. You can use the search bar to quickly locate your preferred languages. Select them and click Add to confirm.


On the other hand you are able to create a custom language, for example in case of local dialects. Click the Create Language option. Enter the Language Name and add an image icon to represent your language, and click Create to confirm.



After adding the selected languages, they are shown with their corresponding flags:



There you go! You are now finished setting up your additional languages. Your questionnaire is now equipped with a button to select your preferred language. To activate this button, your next step is to add the translations of your questionnaire.
