When setting up reporting widgets in your dashboard, there are three different data point types that you can use. This article will explain the individual report option.

When using individual report you are able to present the individual answers that are given by a respondent. Similar to the dynamic data point, this type fetches the live data that is collected within your project to show in your dashboard. The most recent results are shown first. And since this data type is also connected to your project, it updates real time as well. So with every new record that comes into your database, your dashboard is automatically updated and you are always looking at the most recent results.

But where dynamic data applies a calculation to a group of results, the individual report option shows the answer exactly as it is given by the respondent. Your widget is automatically equipped with a counter at the bottom that allows you to click through all the individual results one by one, with a maximum of the 100 most recent results.

When selecting Individual report as your data point type, a few data entry fields appear in your widget settings.

Min scale: some widgets can show the result on a scale and in this field you can enter the minimal scale you want to use.

Max scale: some widgets can show the result on a scale and in this field you can enter the maximum scale you want to use.

Project selection: in this drop down list you can select the project that contains the data you want to report on.

Main data point: in this drop down list you can select the column within your data set that contains the data you want to apply the calculation on.

Applications:

Individual report is a perfect way to present individual answers that a respondent has given. For projects where you have a low N in your data set such as qualitative research, or when you want to present the open answers that respondents have given in their feedback. This type of story telling is very valuable to provide context to the results. When applied in infographics, you have a great way of generating real time reports on a single questionnaire that is filled out. A powerful way of presenting feedback!
