We have released a new version of our software that focuses on a new feature for respondents: Speech-to-Text for Open Answer text boxes.

To improve accessibility and usability for respondents who prefer voice input over typing, and to better assists respondents with for example low literacy levels, we have introduced a Speech-to-Text feature on all open answer (long text) fields, on both web and mobile platforms.

Feature highlights:

• Microphone icon added: All long text input fields now include a microphone icon.  No manual changes are required to provide this functionality to respondents.  The feature is automatically provided over all running surveys. 
• Voice input support: When the icon is tapped or clicked, users can dictate their answers. The spoken input is converted into written text and automatically entered into the answer box.
• Language-aware: Speech recognition respects the questionnaire's language setting for a more qualitative output. If the language is not supported, the microphone icon will not appear.
• Seamless interaction: Keyboard input remains fully functional. Users can edit or replace the transcribed text as needed.
• Character limit enforcement: Transcription will stop automatically once the defined character limit for a field is reached.
